Slow Reader
This is how the story goes
I was a secret romantic
Looking for reasons not to run
Friends warned me about your restless temper
But I only saw your smile
That was chapter one
Pages later you met my mom
I watched you treat her like a friend
And in that moment I knew I never wanted our story to end
Now I’m on the last chapter
Called getting over you
But man, am I a slow reader
I was worried you were losing interest
Doubt was running through my veins
I just wanted us to last
I’ll never know what was in your head when you decided we were done
But mine was wishing we could jump a few chapters back
And the confusion just grew deeper
Diggin up all I did wrong
And I wondered if we were ever on the same page at all
Now I’m on the last chapter
Called getting over you
But man, am I a slow reader
You closed this book a long time ago, but as for myself
I keep it open in case you ever grab your copy off the shelf
Now I’m on the last chapter
Called getting over you
But man, am I a slow reader
